The County Challenge Trophy is awarded to the winning county at the County Finals and has been competed for since 1909 with Lanarkshire winning the inaugural trophy at Gailes. Lanarkshire have won on 9 occasions, 1909, 1926, 1975, 1976 , 1977, 1983, 1984, 1988 and the most recent victory in 1989 at Prestwick.
